We are excited to participate in clinical trials that span a variety of veterinary specialties.
These trials are pivotal in helping to evolve veterinary medicine by developing diagnostic tests to detect diseases earlier or creating innovative therapies to improve patient outcomes. In some cases, the knowledge we gain from these trials can also enhance our understanding of similar conditions in humans.
Participating in a clinical trial can benefit both pets and their owners. Many trials offer access to cutting-edge diagnostics or treatments, often at significantly reduced or no cost.

Your pet’s quality of life is always our top priority.
Pets enrolled in clinical trials receive the same high level of care as all our patients. If at any point you would like to withdraw your pet from the study, you are more than welcome to do so.

Sepsis and Trauma – NEW STUDY (Cleveland)
Aims to understand the role of DNA fragments called nucleosomes in dogs with sepsis and trauma.
Cardiology
Halt HCM Study (Akron)
Fully funded placebo-controlled study evaluating the effectiveness of a novel medication in managing left ventricular hypertrophy associated with subclinical HCM in cats.
Ticker Study (Both locations)
Fully funded pivotal trial investigating torsemide (UpCard) compared to furosemide in managing CHF in dogs with chronic degenerative valve disease.

Precision Medicine Umbrella Study for Hemangiosarcoma (PUSH) (Akron)
Two-phase study. Phase two is fully funded oncologic care. This study seeks to develop a cure for dogs with hemangiosarcoma through a combination of molecular analysis and novel therapeutics.
Volition Feline LSA Study – NEW STUDY (Akron)
Uses a new diagnostic tool to explore levels of DNA fragments in the blood of cats with lymphoma to potentially improve early detections and treatment.
Canine Oral Melanoma Study (Cleveland)
Fully funded study of novel immunotherapy for dogs with stage 3 oral melanoma.
Oncologic Sample Collection Study (Both locations)
Stratification of Outcomes for Lymphoma In Dogs (SOLID) – NEW STUDY (Both locations)
This fully funded clinical trial seeks to refine the canine lymphoma prognosis further and inform treatment decisions. This study also offers a substantial fiscal incentive for our clients!
